George Ross - Carver

Born in Philadelphia, carver George Ross first learned to appreciate the beauty of the Barnegat Bay while fishing here in the 1960s. An avid fisherman and waterfowler, he permanently relocated to Little Egg Harbor where he raised his family. George Ross first began carving his award winning Barnegat Bay style decoys in the late 1980s, after taking a class with John Holloway. The satisfaction and pleasure of carving has taught George Ross “how complex and perfectly adapted are God’s creatures.” George Ross is a regular demonstrator at the Tuckerton Seaport where his decoys have exhibited. George Ross was a Tuckerton Seaport featured carver in 2004.
