Learn to weave a traditional woven eel trap. Learn the history of eeling in South Jersey, and make a scaled down version of an eel trap from white oak or reed. Fee: $75 members/ $85 nonmembers plus materials fee (materials fee TBD). Pre-registration is required by August 7, 2010.

Boats and boating play an expansive role in the Barnegat Bay traditions. Houseboats were a way many vacationers found a fun, inexpensive and adventurous means to spend their holiday. “Party Boats” were a great way for adventuresome men to make their living. Meet and greet some Party Boat Captains past and present, and experience what it was like to live on a houseboat.
