“Renewable Energy at ACUA” – Richard S. Dovey, President of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA)

The ACUA has been nationally recognized for excellence in innovation, efficiency and environmental stewardship. As a strong proponent of renewable energy, ACUA President Richard Dovey initiated many of ACUA’s green projects, such as a 500-kilowatt solar project, a landfill gas-to-electricity project, South Jersey’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) station and, most notably, the construction of the wind farm at ACUA’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. The 40 million gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant is located in Atlantic City, NJ, and the regional sewerage collection system serves 14 municipalities throughout Atlantic County. Dovey will discuss more about New Jersey’s first wind farm, other ACUA renewable energy projects, and plans for the future!
