The Whitecap

“WHITECAP”
DESIGNED BY RENOWN NAVAL
ARCHITECT CHARLES MOWER.
BUILT BY MORTON JOHNSON IN BAY HEAD, NJ 1924.
THIS SLOOP IS 30’ LONG, 10 ½’ WIDE, MAST 48’.
“WHITECAP” IS OWNED BY THE TUCKERTON SEAPORT,
HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT WITH CLASSIC, GRACEFUL LINES,
THIS SAILBOAT HAS BEEN SAILED MAINLY
IN THE LOWER BARNEGAT BAY.
“WHITECAP” HAS HAD TWO
RESTORATIONS, THE FIRST BY ALLEN TONNESON,
THE SECOND STARTED BY TUCKERTON SEAPORT
VOLUNTEERS AND COMPLETED BY DeROUVILLE BOAT WORKS,
INCLUDING REFURBISHING OF THE ORIGINAL 1927 UNIVERSAL
UTILITY FOUR MARINE ENGINE.

THIS BEAUTIFUL SAILBOAT HAS BEEN
AT THE TOMS RIVER SEAPORT BOAT SHOW AND
THE TUCKERTON SEAPORT CLASSIC BOAT SHOW.
